Field Sketching and Nature Drawing Workshop
The California North Coast Chapter of The Wildlife Society (CNCC TWS) is hosting a field sketching workshop with instruction from local artist Gary Bloomfield. Join us one or both days for a course that will begin each day with a classroom session followed by a walking field trip in the park to practice techniques in drawing plants, birds, and other wildlife. Workshops on both Saturday and Sunday will take place at the Redwood Lounge in Arcata's Redwood Park (note this is across the walkway from the larger Redwood Lodge) from 9am to noon each day. Weather-permitting we will spend some time outside doing field sketching in real time, but if it rains we will also have plenty of indoor practice to keep us busy! You can register for a single day or both days, please bring your own art supplies including pencils, pens, paper, watercolor or other color techniques, and any other other materials you would like to use!
Proceeds from this event support CNCC, a local nonprofit that creates events and activities that support wildlife students, professionals, and the sharing of wildlife knowledge and experience.
Once you have paid for your registration here, please use this form to register for the workshop (providing just your name and proof of purchase)
